Purpose of Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
BoQ is a work breakdown structure which provides comprehensive set of items categorized under each element is quantified in a standardized way (from specification, drawings, model , realistic assumptions) that enable all tenderers to price the project or programme in a consistence manner. Traditionally the BOQ is included in a tender document along with other schedules and would be a contract document. This will help to value variations and will act as a control mechanisms for financial implications of tendered works.
